Masks

Applying a mask to a layer

Applying a mask to a layer hides part of the layer to fit the mask shape, allowing you to create precise cutouts and reveal only the content you want to show.

To apply a mask to a layer, select both the mask layer and the target layer (hold Shift to multi-select), then right-click and choose "Set as Mask" from the context menu. The mask will be applied to the target layer, and you can toggle between regular and inverse mask modes in the Properties panel.

In regular mode, the layer shows only the content under the mask. In inverse mode, the layer shows everything except the area under the mask.

To remove a mask, right-click on the masked layer and choose "Unlink Mask" from the context menu.

Next, learn to adjust rounding for smooth mask edges or change the mask mode.
